My overarching theme for 2025 is a quest for peace…mainly from within. After all, the outside world is just a reflection of our inside world. So if we want peace in the world, then we must claim it from within. With each section throughout the year, we’ll explore different aspects of peace using 12 different words that translate as peace in some way…and gradually reveal this year’s Mandala of the Year. Here’s this month’s word:

Harmony – Living in alignment with Others and Yourself

A global concept symbolizing coexistence and balance. In Confucianism, harmony (hé, 和) signifies societal and interpersonal peace. Musical harmony can metaphorically suggest peace through different elements working together. Within ourselves, we can focus on aligning all our parts (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) co-existing in balance together.

Possible action steps:

  1. Coloring: As you color this section, reflect on areas in your life where you feel out of sync, take one small step to restore balance.
  2. Practice: Chant mantras like “Om Shanti” (a Sanskrit mantra for peace and harmony). Visualize harmony spreading within and around you.
  3. Metaphysical Tool: Use tuning forks or singing bowls to align your energy field with harmonious vibrations.

As a means to that end, I make all of my mandalas available for people to color. Why should I have all the fun?
