In honor of the Chinese Year of the Sheep/Goat/Ram that began February 19, 2015, I’m dedicating the 2015 Mandala of the Year to the Goat. Each month we’ll explore a trait or symbol of the goat to explore how we can incorporate it into our own lives.
For Section 9 we look at the goat energy of eye on the prize.
This section reminds us to keep our eyes on the prize. Of course, first we need to determine the prize itself. What is it that we want to accomplish…regardless of whether it’s a big or small task/job/project.
Once decided, we then can create an action plan to make it happen…with the key being to then stick with it…working through any obstacles that appear…whether of our own doing (self-sabotage, procrastination, fear, etc) or from outside circumstances that appear to be out of our control.
To demonstrate this “sticking with it” idea, this adorable baby goat is determined to butt heads with the horse. He has an objective (prize) and does all he can to make it happen…even after a few failed attempts. God bless the horse for his kindness and patience.
When we take actions towards acquiring our “prize”, wonderfully, the universe and the people around us support us…like our friendly horse from the video.
- What’s our prize?
- What’s our plan of action?
- How do we plan to stick with it?
All that’s left is to make it happen. And to give us a little inspiration and motivation in that regard, Captain Picard and his crew say it best in this delightful video (you’ll love this!).
Ponder this while coloring this month’s section of the 2015 Mandala of the Year.
