Download to Color Section 01 of the 2023 Mandala of the Year
We start 2023 by going back to the way the Mandalas of the Year were originally done: one section (month) at a time without knowing what the final mandala will look like. I’ll give you a hint, we will be honoring the Chinese Year of the Rabbit which starts on January 22.
The theme for each section will focus on one characteristic associated with Rabbit energy. We start with “gentle”. And with that we’re encouraged as always to be gentle with the people and possessions in our lives, and just as important (maybe more) we are encouraged to be gentle with ourselves.
Our challenge becomes allowing ourselves the time for self-care, even if it’s just a few moments to hold our hand to our heart and taking a few conscious deep breaths. We are also encouraged to pay attention to our negative self talk and to change it up to more positive statements. Coloring mandalas can help with calming self-care and inner dialogue. As we color notice the thoughts that come up (especially around being gentle with ourselves) and process through them as we color (where did it come from? how does it feel? is it true?). Check out “Science-Backed Ways to Identify and Stop Negative Self-Talk”
An Invitation
I invite you to color along with me this year as part of what I’m calling “The Year of Self-Exploration and Expansion” with all of my “Mandalas of the ___” (day, week, month, year). If you’re interested more of a self-exploration approach to coloring, check out my “Coloring Mandalas as Meditation”.
Feel free to share you colorings on social media with the hashtag #2023MotY. I’d love to see your colorings. I’ll be posting my colorings on the MandalaoftheYear.com blog as well as on FB and IG (@themandalalady)
