23-02 “Quiet”

Download to Color Section 02 of the 2023 Mandala of the Year

Continuing with honoring the Chinese Year of the Rabbit which started on January 22, Section 2 of the 2023 Mandala of the Year is now available. This month’s characteristic associated with Rabbit energy is “quiet”.

Our challenge becomes allowing ourselves to be quiet from time-to-time (regularly would be better)…both in our minds and when being with other people. From Well Life Therapy: “Silence from the outside world allows you to touch base with yourself internally. It provides you the chance to hear your inner thoughts and not be distracted away from your own desires. Silence allows you to experience a deeper level of thinking. When you know that there isn’t another person that is going to interrupt or a text message that is going to come in, you can allow your mind to think to a deeper level.

For guidance, Amy Bailey of MyScoop.us offers 10 ways to practice silence. Of course one of the best ways to practice being quiet, is coloring mandalas.

An Invitation

I invite you to color along with me this year as part of what I’m calling “The Year of Self-Exploration and Expansion” with all of my “Mandalas of the ___” (day, week, month, year). If you’re interested more of a self-exploration approach to coloring, check out my “Coloring Mandalas as Meditation”.

Feel free to share you colorings on social media with the hashtag #2023MotY. I’d love to see your colorings. I’ll be posting my colorings on the MandalaoftheYear.com blog as well as on FB and IG (@themandalalady)

“You do not need
to leave your room.
Remain sitting
at your table and listen.
Do not even listen,
simply wait,
be quiet still and solitary.
The world will
freely offer itself to you
to be unmasked,
it has no choice,
it will roll in ecstasy
at your feet.

— Franz Kafka
