Adding up the numbers in the year 2011 (2+0+1+1) it totals four. With the number four, I sense a solid, strong supportive structure…a chair with four legs, four walls to a room, four sides of a building, four wheels supporting a car, etc.
The current cycle of the Mayan Calendar ends on December 21, 2012…the operative phrase here being “current cycle.” Many people talk and hype about what will happen on this date, much of it sadly is fear-based.
Just as we treat January 1 every year as another opportunity to start or restart our lives, so too we could do the same with the Mayan Calendar cycle. The fact that it takes over 5,000 years to go through the long cycle gives this date more significance to the people who pay attention to it.
Regardless of whether this system has any validity, I want to use it as a tool to help me get my act together and build a solid foundation for myself before the next cycle begins on December 22, 2012. In other words, I want to use this date as a goal date to release all of that which fails to serve me any longer.
2011 will be my year to tear down old belief structures so I can build a foundation of new, stronger ones that lead me towards living a more wholehearted life. Coloring the sections of the MOTY will be a major component of this process.
